WHY FISH WAUKEGAN?
Waukegan is just about in your own back yard with excellent salmon and trout fishing in the palm of your hand. Waukegan has been named the salmon fishing capital. The Waukegan Charter Boat Association has 15 sport fishing charter boats at your service.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME FOR FISHING?
Fishing Lake Michigan starts in mid April. April, May, and June brings excellent Coho Salmon fishing with good chances of catching Rainbow Trout and Brown Trout adding to your daily catch.

June through October produces Coho Salmon, Chinook Salmon ( the largest of the Salmon family ), Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, and Lake Trout. These Salmon & Trout are larger and put up a good hard fight.

September and October is the best time for Lake Trout Fishing. That's spawning time. They can range in weight to over 30 lbs..

PERCH FISHING
Perch fishing starts up about the middle of April and goes through October. The season closes down during the month of July. You will catch some of the largest
Lake ( YELLOW ) Perch you have ever seen fishing on Lake Michigan out of Waukegan, Illinois. The limit is 15 perch each.

Lake Michigan's underwater structure in the Waukegan area provides exceptionally good fishing April through October. This excellent fishing ground is best reached from Waukegan Harbor located on the Illinois shoreline approximately 30 miles north of Chicago.

THE WAUKEGAN CHARTER BOAT ASSOCIATION is the oldest and largest charter fleet on Lake Michigan, with a reputation for safe and seaworthy charter service. Each captain is licensed by the U.S. Coast Guard and is experienced in operating vessels on Lake Michigan. These captains have over 400 years of combined fishing experience.
